Christian Powell is the Founder and Commissioner of the Charleston Collegiate League. A former professional baseball player with the Minnesota Twins and Houston Astros organizations, Powell created the league to provide college athletes with a competitive summer environment focused on development, structure, and player experience.

A former professional baseball player with the Minnesota Twins and Houston Astros organizations, Powell created the league to provide college athletes with a competitive summer environment focused on development, structure, and player experience.
After his playing career, Powell transitioned into sports performance and player development, founding Island Sports Performance in Charleston, SC, where he has worked with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. In addition to operating multiple businesses within the sports performance industry, he also teaches within the Health and Human Performance department at the College of Charleston.
The Charleston Collegiate League was built around the idea of creating a players first summer experience that allows athletes to compete in meaningful games while continuing their development both on and off the field in one of the top summer destinations in the country.
Dominic Leone
Dominic Leone brings extensive professional baseball experience to the Charleston Collegiate League after spending over a decade playing in Major League Baseball. A Clemson University alumnus, Leone was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 16th round of the 2012 MLB Draft and went on to pitch for multiple MLB organizations throughout his career, including the Mariners, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Giants, Mets, Angels, and White Sox.

BJ McConnell
BJ McConnell currently serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Lucy Beckham High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Prior to Lucy Beckham, McConnell also coached at Georgetown High School and has built a reputation for developing players and building competitive programs throughout South Carolina.

His experience within high school baseball and player development brings strong leadership and familiarity with the Charleston baseball community to the Charleston Collegiate League.
Jacob Pusateri
Jacob Pusateri currently serves as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball program, where he works closely with player development, recruiting, and daily program operations.

Pusateri brings collegiate coaching experience, leadership, and a strong understanding of player development to the Charleston Collegiate League as manager of the Anchors this summer. His experience working within the recruiting landscape and developing collegiate athletes provides valuable insight and mentorship for players competing in the league.
