CHARLESTON COLLEGIATE LEAGUE PREPARING FOR OPENING DAY OF THE 2026 SEASON

Charleston Collegiate League Preparing for Opening Day of the 2026 Season

The Charleston Collegiate League is preparing for Opening Day of the 2026 summer season as collegiate players from across the country get set to arrive in Charleston this June.

Following continued growth heading into its second season, the Charleston Collegiate League is continuing to establish itself as one of the premier summer opportunities for college baseball players looking for meaningful live reps, development opportunities, and a player-focused summer environment.

Opening Day for the 2026 season is scheduled for June 1, with the regular season running through July 10. Throughout the summer, players will compete in a structured local schedule designed to balance competition, training, recovery, and player development.

Unlike many traditional summer leagues that require extensive travel and long road schedules, the Charleston Collegiate League keeps all games local to the Charleston area. This structure allows players to maximize game opportunities while still having time to continue strength training, throwing programs, recovery work, and overall development throughout the summer.

The 2026 season will feature the Islanders, Holy City, and Anchors, with players competing from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Junior College programs across the country.

One of the league’s biggest areas of growth heading into 2026 has been the continued development of training and performance opportunities available to players throughout the season. The league has established partnerships with several sports performance organizations to help provide athletes with access to additional training resources while they are in Charleston, including:

The Charleston Collegiate League continues to provide a unique summer experience for players looking to compete in a structured environment while spending the summer in one of the premier destinations in the country. With Charleston’s beaches, downtown atmosphere, baseball culture, and growing training opportunities, the league provides players with an experience that extends well beyond the field.

League Commissioner Christian Powell said the focus remains centered on creating an environment where players can continue improving while competing in meaningful games throughout the summer.

“Our goal has always been to create a summer environment where players can continue developing, compete consistently, and enjoy everything Charleston has to offer throughout the summer,” Powell said. “We’re excited about the level of talent we’ve continued to attract and are looking forward to a great Opening Day and season.”

Rosters for the 2026 season are currently being finalized, with a limited number of pitching spots still available.
